Omegacom, Inc., is a communications/software development and electronic publishing firm providing customized services in utilization of information technology and in business development.

Omegacom is a pioneer in the development of knowledge tools and related content technology. The company broadly defines knowledge tools as software systems that focus very large information flows and manipulate, present and deliver the focused data in such a way that new, actionable, always current knowledge is created for the user.

In connection with this work, Omegacom also is seeking to develop new electronic channels and systems for enhancing efficient and cost/effective communication and for the marketing of ideas, services and products.

Omegacom believes knowledge tools will evolve on a three-level path:

Level I KTs: Those that provide organization of focused data for the human mind to apply a default hierarchy and perceive significant patterns on which to base decisions.

Level II KTs: Those Level I KTs that use agents to select much or all of the data automatically for the human mind to apply a default hierarchy and perceive significant patterns on which to base decisions.

Level III KTs: Those Level II KTs that include a programmed default hierarchy that will process agent-focused data for presentation of significant patterns and options for decision to the human mind. More advanced Level III KTs will be capable of improving or evolving successful default hierarchies.

Omegacom today offers three Level I knowledge tools:

The proVide Benefits Communications System -- a touch-screen employee communications channel

The OFFER Marketing Communications System -- an electronic brochure and order taker

The READY Corporate Executive Communications System -- a crisis and issues manager

All function in Windows on stand-alone PCs or on networks. All are interactive and multi-media. All can be kept current instantly from a single management center.

Omegacom's staff offers, as required, full consulting, technical and implementation services. The Company also offers customized configurations of its knowledge tools.

Omegacom was founded in Boston in 1991 as an early virtual corporation. Operations, other than in Boston, are located in Saco, ME, Providence, RI, and Christiansted, St. Croix, USVI.

The Company was founded by James Baar, who is president and managing consultant. Principal associates include: Theodore H. Baar, vice president and chief technologist, and Mary Blackburn, Chief Corporate Benefits Planning Consultant. Omegacom operations include more than a dozen senior associates with experience in a broad spectrum of disciplines and industries.

The Baars represent the fourth and fifth generation in a family of American information and communications developers and businessmen. They are direct descendants of Albert Frank, who pioneered business advertising and communications in New York beginning in the decade after the Civil War. Frank previously was a Berlin banker and financial advisor to Czar Alexander II of Russia.
